During yesterday's 18th Annual Webby Awards, New York City-based design agency MSLK received what the New York Times called the "Internet's highest honor" for the Friend & Johnson site. Our site was named Best Website out of no fewer than 12,000 design entries, and MSLK was one of only 15% of candidates who received mention as an Official Honoree. The Webby Awards are presented annually by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), a hefty panel which includes web-industry experts Arianna Huffington, Skype CEO Tony Bates, Mozilla CEO and Chair Mitchell Baker, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, mobile-phone inventor Martin Cooper, and Creator of the Gif Steve Wilhite.
Marc S. Levitt, MSLK Partner and Creative Director, described their process as two-fold: "It was a careful balancing act, combining two goals which are often in opposition: having the largest imagery possible, while also keeping the F+J brand prominent so that it is top-of-mind amongst the world’s most discerning art buyers and art directors. I believe we succeeded in doing that, as well as creating a site that is very easy to navigate." In addition to serving creative agencies, MSLK designs solutions within the fashion and beauty industries.
Thank you, MSLK, for the beautiful website!
